  • Overview

    Managers are responsible for assisting with the overall departmental planning, trend analysis and evaluation of the department’s performance and providing regular performance updates to the Revenue Cycle Director and are responsible for supervising assigned switchboard and registration staff.  This position is responsible for the administration and management of all personnel and functions of switchboard, pre-registration, outpatient registration, emergency room registration, inpatient and same day admissions, discharge, financial clearance (insurance eligibility, benefits verification, authorization/referral management, payer notification, pre-service/point of service cash collections) and financial counseling functions.  


    • Responsible for ensuring the collection of comprehensive and accurate demographic and financial data to optimize timely billing and collection of accounts receivable
    • Manages and monitors personnel, communicating regularly with staff and Director to keep abreast of issues.
    • Delivers evaluations and feedback, carrying out organizational policies and procedures, training staff, and establishing department goals and objectives.
    • Works with patients who have, or potentially have high liabilities, and assisting them with identifying possible alternate funding sources, arranging acceptable payment plans, or screening them for financial assistance
    • Ensures collection of patient payment obligations at time of check-in.
    • Ensures smooth communication with switchboard operations, emergency responses and alarms.
    • As a working manager, this position will focus on assisting the staff in day to day operations.
    • Responsible for payroll and maintaining adequate coverage during absences.
    • Conducts staff meetings, documenting meeting minutes.
    • Makes operational decisions in the absence of the Director.
    • Participates in special projects/assignments as indicated by the Department Director.


    • High school graduate
    • College courses in Business Administration, or degree, highly desired
    • 5+ years working in the healthcare setting that demonstrates progressive responsibility and/or leadership
    • Certification as a Revenue Cycle Professional through AAPC, AHIMA or AHAAM highly desired
