    The Diagnostic Imaging Nurse at Mid Coast Hospital is a clinical position.  The primary area of responsibility is the management of patient care.  This includes clinical nursing practice/caring, leadership, management, professionalism, and growth and development.  The clinical nurse is responsible for the independent assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.  Demonstrates positive guest relations through effective communication skills, patient advocacy, and maintaining collaborative relationships.  The RN at this level is expected to contribute to improvements in standards of care, support departmental policies and assume responsibilities for meeting professional education goals.

    Responsibilities

    The Diagnostic Imaging Nurse will assist the Radiologists and Technologists in selected procedures performed in Diagnostic Imaging, according to the practices and procedure protocols defined by the American College of Radiology.  Collaborative interaction with referring physicians, Radiologists, Technologists and Imaging Schedulers is a key component of this position.

     

    • Performs and documents systematic admission assessments according to established criteria
    • Identifies patient problems based on assessment findings
    • Performs ongoing assessment of patient's physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs
    • Administer medications and moderate sedation according to established standards, policies and procedures

     

     

    Qualifications

    • RN Licensure, State of Maine
    • Critrical care nursing experience (highly recommended)
    • Radiology experience highly desired
    • BLS and ACLS certifications
