Overview

Under the supervision of the Director of Dining Services, the Dining Room supervisor is responsible for the oversight and supervision of personnel assigned to serving meals in the Dining Room. The objective is to maintain a staff that is courteous, capable, efficient and well groomed. Training is an ongoing practice. The Dining Room Supervisor shall perform such other duties as assigned by the Director of Dining Services.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to all resident needs as they arise while in the dining room
  • Have a complete knowledge of table setting and servers etiquette expected at Thornton Oaks
  • Confirm that daily menus and meal counts are posted
  • Prepare and supervise servers' daily work tasks
  • Oversee daily set up and clean up of service areas and dining room prior to and following serving hours
  • Performing server duties when necessary
  • Assist in the interview process for server positions if needed
  • Provide training for all the dining service staff
  • Monitor reliability and attendance of service personnel
  • Make server assignments
  • Ensure all health and dress codes are adhered to
  • Set up and ensure service for special events

Qualifications

Previous experience in dining services or comparable experience.
