Overview

Under the supervision of the FNS Supervisor, the FNS Aide performs a variety of patient/customer food service functions in one or more of the following areas:  cafeteria, patient tray side, nourishments, catering, as well as other related tasks in accordance with department/organizational goals and objective and in compliance with  current laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares position area(s) for each meal as assigned and assure sanitation of such area(s) before, during and after meal service.
  • Prepares, portion, service and/or deliver meal/noursishment/snacks to patients, staff, guests and visitors in an attractive, appetizing manner as specified while practicing safe food handling methods.
  • Delivers to and retrieve food from food carts to patients/resident floors as specified.
  • Prepares, set-up, deliver and retrieve catering function items to function rooms as specified in an efficient, courteous manner maintaining quality standards at all times.
  • Socks and refill as necessary any service ware, condiments, food/beverage/paper item needed before, during and after meal service.
  • Maintains appropriate equipment temperature logs (refrigerator, freezer) on daily basis.  

Qualifications

High School diploma preferred but not required. 

Prior experience of food service, preferable in health care/institutional setting desired, but not necessary.
