Overview

This position is primarily responsible for face to face contact with patients to resolve billing related questions, including but not limited to taking payments on accounts, answering account related questions, navigating patient questions, and administering the financial assistance program to in house patients.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates exceptional customer service to patients inquiring in person on their account.
  • Ability to answer questions related to balances accrued in the medical group or hospital setting.
  • Resolves patient inquiries at the lowest level of decision making. Navigates patient inquiries to the most appropriate place.
  • Administers the Financial Assistance Program to any in house patient, designated with no payment source. Navigates all options for patients including identifying available resources.
  • Maintains the self-pay collections aging cycle for professional charges. Accurately and timely refers accounts for collections when appropriate.
  • Assists in other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate.
  • 2+ years working healthcare billing or healthcare collections.
  • 5+ years working in a customer service role.
