The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing ultrasound exams to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. He/she assists Radiologists in sterile procedures, and maintains ultrasound equipment according to manual.
Perform ultrasound exams as requested by ordering physician and department protocol
Demonstrate knowledge and proper use of ultrasound equipment.
Prepare and positiion patiens for ultrasound exam
Develop camera images
Assist Radiologist in placement of needles, tubes, etc
Note changes in patient's condition and notify Radiolgist or patient's physician
Completion of AMA approved 2 year course.
Completion of Diagnostic Medical Sonography Exams-D.M.S. preferred.
At least 3 months Diagnostic Ultrasound experience preferred.
Current registration of R.D.M.S.
Current license for State of Maine if appropriate.
