Overview

Organizes and conducts prescribed occupational therapy programs within the home and nursing home setting through the application of purposeful, goal-directed activity in the treatment of persons whose function is impaired by physical illness or injury, emotional disorder, congenital or developmental disability or the aging process in order to achieve the optimum functioning to prevent disability and to maintain health.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Accurately develops and plans programs involving activities of daily living

  • Provides accurate, complete and timely documentation related to each patient according to agency guidelines and third party payer             requirements

  • Recommendts/designs/fabricates/modifies static/dynamic splints. home environment and other small assertive devices to alleviate/substitues for lack of body function
  • Participates as agency liason in the training of agency employees and in the education of the community to the role and function of occuptational therapy

Qualifications

  • State of Maine licensure
  • Entry level degree in Occupational Therapy; 1 year experience in supervised setting
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent composition skills
  • Valid Maine driver's license and own transporation
  • Prior home health experience preferred
